As medical treatments of prescription, synthetic, pharmaceutical drugs continue to skyrocket in use, in price, and create Opioid epidemics among its users, there is another way, often overlooked.

Healing.

Image by <a href="https://pixabay.com/users/heungsoon-4523762/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=5620566">HeungSoon</a> from <a href="https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=5620566">Pixabay</a>Unbeknownst to many, there is a critical difference between “treatment” and “healing.” Treatment is a medical term reserved for managed, medical care practices and providers.

The term, Treatment (Tx), is a medical intervention, also referred to as a therapy, usually ordered by a physician as part of a care plan following a diagnosis. Treatment is the provision, coordination or management of health care and related services by one or more health care providers.

This includes:

• Coordination or management of health care by a health care provider with a third party
• Consultation between health care providers relating to a patient
• Referral of a patient for health care from one provider to another.

In many countries, the term, Treatment, falls under Medical Treatment Law. Sec. 2:  The purpose of this Law is to regulate public relationships in medical treatment in order to ensure qualified prophylaxis and diagnosis of diseases or injury, as well as qualified medical treatment and rehabilitation of patients. In America, each state has a Medical Practice Act, which defines “treatment” as a medical act.

Thus, “treatment” is a medical term, a process prescribed by a licensed healthcare provider, overseen by a larger entity or organization. Accordingly, allopathic treatments do not necessarily involve healing.

Allopathy: A system in which medical doctors and other healthcare professionals (such as nurses, pharmacists, and therapists) treat symptoms and diseases using drugs, radiation, or surgery. Also called biomedicine, conventional medicine, mainstream medicine, orthodox medicine, and Western medicine.

Western, allopathic, biomedicine does not distinguish between treatment and healing because allopathy is not designed to cure. The job of commercial medicine is “managed healthcare” so that licensed medical doctors become gatekeepers to your body to treat symptoms using drugs, radiation or surgery. With your permission, they are hired by you to manage your health for the rest of your life. Note: “Cure” is a medical term. According to state laws, only licensed physicians (and in some cases, nurse practitioners) can legally ‘diagnose,’ ‘prescribe,’ ‘treat,’ or ‘cure’ disease.

Of course, health is a personal responsibility. But according to Latvian Medical Treatment law, this responsibility goes beyond the individual:

Section 5.  Everyone has a duty to take care of and everyone is responsible for his or her own health, the health of the nation, and the health of his or her relatives and dependents.

There is a time and a place for medical treatment, on an individual basis. Using allopathic medicine for a diagnosis, or for minor surgery, when needed, is a choice. However, for the true healing there is another way that does not get much mention.

Self-Healing

Image by <a href="https://pixabay.com/users/pexels-2286921/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=1853439">Pexels</a> from <a href="https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=1853439">Pixabay</a>Self-healing is self-evident and self-sustaining. No gatekeeper needed.

Humans are born self-healers. As such, healing is a birthright. It happens from within, wherever you are. Healing is an inside-out job.

Human nature IS Nature. Simply provide the tools of Nature and the body, in its wisdom, heals itself.

Truth is simple.

Nature’s many ecosystems illustrate how healing happens through patterns and through balance. Whether forest, grassland, jungle, desert, tundra, aquatic or the human gut, all ecosystems show the same patterns. All ecosystems strive for the same balance.

In this way, each ecosystem is a microcosm of the macrocosm. This pattern is expressed as the same minerals and bacteria seen in the human body are also found in the soil, the waters, and the atmosphere.

Where Nature finds balance, Nature finds healing.

Holistic healers look at health from a whole-istic perspective, whereas the medical community looks at health from a genetic perspective.

Yet, health is much more than genetics, alone. People breakthrough “bad genes” when they choose to reverse and heal dis-ease. Focusing on genes means people are limited to using medical “patented” approaches, such as prescription drugs, surgery, or approved, or authorized, injections.

Why do some family members all get the same diagnosis while others do not?

We don’t catch diseases, we create them by breaking down the natural defenses according to the way we eat, drink, think and live. – Dr. Constantine Hering, Father of American Homeopathy

Familial, or genetic, traits are predisposed, meaning “likely.” But likely does not mean mandatory when it comes to health and healing. Just because your mother is diagnosed with Hashimoto’s does not mean that you need to experience it, even though you may be predisposed to similar symptoms.

Western medicine focuses on the genome and focuses minimally on lifestyle habits or food.  However, the area of Nutrigenomics provides expensive and voluminous genomic reports for nutrition and health analysis based on your genes. Your genetic signature is a physical description when approached from allopathic medicine.

Nutrigenomics is the study of how food affects a person’s genes and how a person’s genes affect the way the body responds to food. – National Cancer Institute

Ironically, it is the National Cancer Institute that defines this new area of Nutrigenomics even as cancer rates continue to rise exponentially. Is the National Cancer Institute ever going to find a cure for cancer?

The untold truth about DNA is that DNA is also energetic. DNA is known as a bio-energetic internet, a receiver, transmitter, and translator of information or light energy. Medical doctors don’t talk about this aspect of DNA, as they prefer to treat the body as a machine. [See my book The Nature of Healing; Heal the Body, Heal the Planet.]

Through your energetic signature, you are able to see the bigger picture of your health and predispositions, which can describe all possible health-related information.

For instance, a medical, nutrigenomic report that claims to analyze nutrition does not necessarily explain the path to your imbalance, nor what is important for recovering your health. It may provide you with reams of scientific data and information on SNPs, methylation and the need for glutathione, but not so much “the nuts and bolts” of self-healing.

The truth is that anyone who is out of balance, anyone diagnosed from autism to Hashimoto’s disease, exhibits autoimmune markers for methylation deficiency, glutathione deficiency and common deletions and SNPS. Deficiency and excess is at the core of all imbalance or dis-ease; a deficiency of minerals, and nutrients, and an excess of toxins and pathogens are places to begin.

A Nutrigenomic report may lead to more questions.  You will need to ask the group who generated the numbers, or a medical professional, to decipher the information for you. Know that your genes do not activate themselves to heal you. The body heals itself, if provided what it is missing.

Genetics Vs. Epigenetics

Image by <a href="https://pixabay.com/users/colin00b-346653/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=1388692">Colin Behrens</a> from <a href="https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=1388692">Pixabay</a>Many people are convinced to believe that genetics explains why whole families may suffer from similar disease syndromes. Doctors convince families that the same symptoms or diagnoses are gene-related. However, family members may be predisposed to similar outcomes if they do not make the necessary lifestyle changes.  But don’t look to The Gene Theory for the answers. It is still just a theory

The 1996 Human Genome Project failed. It was an international scientific attempt to map the human genome to catalog a theory of one gene for one disease. It was touted as “The Future of Medicine” and a way “revolutionize the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of most, if not all, human diseases.”

The idea failed. Big time. The one gene-one disease theory is a simplistic mindset without merit. Where once the media boasted the promise of a new day and a new way, suddenly, everything was retracted and withdrawn.  Not another word about the Genome Project.

Knowing that genetics does not hold the keys to health or healing frees you to find your answers in Nature. The lack of a genetic roadmap showed the importance of Epigenetics –Beyond genetics. Epigenetics suggests that the exposures from the surrounding environment are more telling. Observing genetics, alone, is limiting when you consider that all DNA is both a biophysical and a metaphysical structure.

When it comes to families exhibiting the same symptoms, we need to become investigators and ask some specific Epigenetic questions:

1) When did the symptoms start for you?
2) What are your exposures?
3) What types of foods do you each eat? Do you exercise?
4) How much alcohol, caffeine, supplements, prescription drugs do you consume?
5) Did you receive any mRNA, EUA (Emergency Use Authorized) injections?

Where does western, allopathic medicine go awry?

Many studies now show what sensitive humans have known since life began; spending time in Nature heals. Healing has always been a self-evident, self-sustaining, unspoken order of healing made up of patterns.

Naturopath, Dr. Henry Lindlahr, described The Law of Healing Crisis. as, “an acute reaction, resulting from the ascendancy of nature’s healing forces over disease conditions. Its tendency is toward recovery.” Lindlahr showed that a person had to experience a healing crisis in order to return to health. The crisis is the point  at which the disease reaches its fullest expression and communicates the nature of the problem which was previously latent in the host.

Nature never undertakes a healing crisis until the system has been prepared for it, or until the organism is sufficiently purified and strengthened to conduct the acute reaction to a favorable termination. Healing crises occur in mild form only because the healing forces of the organism have gained the ascendancy over the disease conditions.

Another healing pattern is expressed in Hering’s Law of Cure:

• Symptoms of a chronic disease disappear in definite order, going in reverse and taking about one month for every year the symptoms have been present.
• Symptoms move from the more vital organs to the less vital organs; from the interior of the body towards the skin.
• Symptoms move from the top of the body downward.

Hering’s Law of Cure is the basis of all healing. This is the way the body heals itself if provided Nature’s tools. In general, reversal of disease takes one month for every year of symptoms or dis-ease.

Healing Modalities

Image by 👀 Mabel Amber, who will one day from PixabayThere is an equal energy exchange between Nature and humans; a giving and a receiving. As trees produce the oxygen for human and animal life, so, too do humans provide carbon dioxide to the trees. Bees pollinate flowers, which in turn, provide nectar to the bees, and honey for humans and animals. On and on, without measure, go these mutually beneficial exchanges.

Earthing is the act of walking barefoot on the Earth to reset your biological rhythm. But you can also put on your hiking books and walk in Nature to Forest Bathe.

Forest Bathing is the act of spending time in a forest. Now, multiple studies show that spending 40 minutes walking in Nature reduced cortisol (stress hormone) levels.

From a measured, scientific point of view, trees and plants emit aromatic compounds called phytoncides that create healthy biological changes similar to aromatherapy. The longer the time spent in Nature the larger the changes in the blood which enhance the immune system, improve mood, lower blood pressure, reduce PTSD, and protect against cancer.

Is it not, also, the job of humans to protect and restore Nature? Instead, allopathic medicine and pharmaceutical companies have created “Pharmacology” by manipulating whole plants and patenting their parts, or isolates, to become medical prescription drugs for profit.

Plants As Healers

Image by <a href="https://pixabay.com/users/publicdomainpictures-14/?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=164571">PublicDomainPictures</a> from <a href="https://pixabay.com//?utm_source=link-attribution&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=image&utm_content=164571">Pixabay</a>As known throughout the ages, plants are, and always have been, the true healers. As many studies, articles, books, cultures, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), and the practice of Herbalism prove, whole plants, are healers, in their own right.

In most cases, the whole plant is both food (or spice) and medicine. Each individual plant has unique properties and gifts, just like each individual human or animal.

Plant properties include their actions: adaptogenic, anti-inflammatory, astringent, bronchodilating, carminative, cholagogue, demulcent, diaphoretic, diuretic, emetic, emoillient, expectorant, galactoguge, immune modulating, nutrient dense, anti-oxidant, anti-parasitic, antimicrobial, sedative, antiseptic, antifungal, febrifuge, hemostatic, nervine, toinc, vulnerary, etc.

According to Western Herbalism, the Vitalist /Physiomedicalist energetic actions were first developed in the 19th and 20th centuries beginning with William Cook who published The Physio-Medical Dispensatory in 1869. The healing actions of plants were described, then, as: relaxant, stimulant, tonic/astringent, vital stimulant, diffusive, trophorestorative.

Just because Herbalism, TCM, Aromatherapy, Acupuncture, Homeopathy, Naturopathy, Craniosacral therapy, and other forms of holistic medicine have been suppressed under the strong-arm of allopathic medicine does not mean that healing cannot take place. Holistic modalities are not inaccessible, only ignored by the mainstream.

There is a difference between Treatment and Healing. Treatment happens at the hands of a physician, licensed by a for-profit organization known as the American Medical Association, using the tools of synthetic, prescription medications with hard-to-pronounce names, surgeries, radiation, and chemotherapy. Self-healing is ongoing.

A word to the wise:  Self-healing happens wherever you are, using Nature’s tools. As you heal one imbalance, a new one rises to the surface to be healed. Thus, the life journey is the healing journey.

Happy Healing!
